During the age of early settlement in America, various groups of people migrated to America to start a new life. The two main settlements that were formed on the eastern seaboard were the Puritans in the Massachusetts Bay Colony and the Englishmen in The Tidewater Region and Jamestown. The settlers of the Massachusetts Bay Colony had a more noble purpose in settling in America than those who settled in Jamestown. The Puritans moved to America in order to practice their religion, whereas the settlers of Jamestown relocated in order to amass their wealth. The Puritans were a sect of Calvinistic Christians who were extremely pious. They were not free to practice their faith in England and were persecuted by the Anglican Church. These people risked everything just so they could freely practice their faith. Their sole purpose in settling in America was to practice and perpetuate their religion. Their communities were based on their belief in God and their following of stringent moral values. Conversely, the settlers in Jamestown came to America to get rich. These profiteers were interested in milking the land for cash crops and other sources of revenue. Their express purpose was to make money and increase the trading business. Their motives are comparatively callous compared to their Puritan counterparts. The Puritans community structure also illustrates their nobler aspirations. The Puritans formed communities where they could closely practice their faith together. They had a big focus on families and community worship. The purpose of education to them was to teach the children religous and moral values. The Old Deluder Act said that the way to outsmart Satan and be saved was to learn about God. Every community of 50 families had a teacher and every community of 100 families had a school. Their emphasis on religous education supports that they had noble intentions. The Jamestown colonists, however, were not as concerned with education. When they did educate the children, it was to teach them a trade of other commerce related education. Marvell, Donne and Shakespeare who were the authors of the poems, departed from conventions of that time. Marvel and Donne wrote metaphysical poetry and invented a new genre, whereas Shakespeare wrote a sonnet which appeared to be written in the style of that time but with twists. They have achieved these poems by taking a unique approach to writing them and by keeping the readers entertained through amusement, dismay and excitement. â€Å"To His Coy Mistress and â€Å"The Flea† are very similar in context and purpose. They are metaphysical poems which reflect wit, obscure comparisons of objects and the reality of love and sex. The purpose of both poems was to get the speaker’s mistress to sleep with him, using strong imagery in an act of persuasion. The poems were written to entertain and would have been passed round the writer’s friends in order to amuse them. â€Å"Shall I compare thee† however, stood out because the writer chose a convention already in use. The purpose of this sonnet was to flatter his loved one and in an unexpected twist at the end, also himself. â€Å"Had we but world... ...ent awareness to the poet from the loving and affectionate one we once felt. He comes across proud and slightly arrogant about his work, and puts a different slant on what was once a conventional love poem. In conclusion I think the 17th day reaction would have been entertaining and funny and therefore quite different to the reaction I would expect now. People today would find the poetry quite shocking and distasteful and they would not be considered politically correct. â€Å"To His Coy Mistress† is successful because it is entertaining, wheras â€Å"The Flea† is successful because it’s fascinating and slightly confusing at times. â€Å"Shall I compare thee† however is totally different because it has departed from it and the overall result was very successful. The poet went from delighting the audience then to twisting their opinions of him keeping them entertained.

Automobiles cannot be stockpiled for too long so therefore, only so many are made based on demand of the consumer. Another example would be the fast food industry. For example, Chik-Fil-A would only produce a meal once an order is taken which meets the demand of the customer. When companies in the service industry use Chase Strategy, they tend to hire hourly employees, part time employees and allow overtime in order to meet the demand of customers. By comparison, mistakes like mixing up â€Å"their† and â€Å"they’re† in a college paper could imply a lack of care or attention, even if the reader can tell what you intended. However, if you’re just hanging out with friends and you feel an urge to tell someone off for splitting an infinitive, it could seem insulting or annoying to the person you’re correcting. Thus, if grammar matters more to you than your friends, feel free to be as pedantic as you like. Otherwise, it might be best to save formal English for when it really counts.
